WCB CRISIS AID

The Washington Council of the Blind provides a Crisis Aid Program.  All legally blind persons in the State of Washington qualify for crisis aid including those who are not members of WCB.  This is a one time only award.  Persons who are not legally blind or who have received crisis aid in the past are not eligible to apply.

Guidelines for providing Crisis Aid are as follows: 1.  up to $300 for food, medicine or utilities, such as power, phone, gas and water; 2.  up to $300 for emergency medical expenses for a working guide dog; or 3.  up to $1,000 for disaster relief, such as fire and flood.

Those wishing to make a request should contact WCB by calling 1-800-255-1147, during business hours, Monday-Friday.
